Friday Friday

It's Friday, Friday gonna get down on Friday.

I know corny & way too overplayed.. but I like it.

Anyway I am so looking forward to this weekend! Saturday is my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary so we will be going to a Catholic mass in their honor.  So awesome to have been married for 60 years!

My Grandparents with my brother and me :)
That is really the only fun thing going on this weekend.  I hope to get 5 workouts in between now & Monday morning.  Also the usual cleaning and homework time.

Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?

Peace out girl scouts!

I was nominated!!

I was nominated & tagged for a fun little award thing.  Its my first time so I'm entirely too excited :)

The wonderful Allison @  Finding my Happy tagged me. As did Brooke @ Pursuit of Healthy.

If you don't already read their blogs, hurry go check them out right now!

The rule
  • Post 11 things about yourselves
  • Answer the 11 questions the person who nominated you asked you
  • Create 11 more questions to ask your nominee
  • Choose 11 bloggers to nominate
  • And make sure and let these people know you nominated them! No tag backs, so don't nominate someone who nominated you.

  1. There are seven years between my brother & me.  It worked well for us, we have always gotten along and never really dealt with that sibling rivalry.  We live together now and still get along.
  2. From the age of five on I said I would be a lawyer, yet here I am at 26 and still not pursuing it, I still want to though, someday.

WIW

Time for another Weigh in Wednesday

From last week that is a 1.2 gain. Definitely not good but not as bad as I expect considering the week I had and it being my TOM. The important thing is I recognize it and plan to do better.  So here's to next week!

I plan on doing a What I Ate Wednesday (WIAW) post here in a bit, with the lovely Jenn over @ Peas & Crayons (great blog if you don't already read it.  She hysterical and posts awesome recipes, crafts, workouts you name it!)

Weekend Recap

Well I haven't blogged in almost a week, I feel like I have nothing interesting to say! But I do want to make this a habit, so my goal is to blog 3 times during the week.  Even if no-one is reading it I think it is good for me.

As always I do great eating & exercising Monday through Friday but then the weekend comes and all hell breaks loose.  So of course that happened this weekend.

I did make a yummy Mediterranean Pasta Salad with Chicken. I can't remember where I found the recipe, but this is what I followed. I'm sure this might be common sense to some, but I need a recipe for everything!

Ingredients:
3 oz. (about 1 cup) uncooked high-fiber rotini pasta
1/2 cup chopped zucchini
1/2 cup chopped red onion
4 oz. cooked and chopped skinless chicken breast
1/2 cup chopped cucumber
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1/4 cup roasted red peppers packed in water, drained and chopped
3 tbsp. reduced-fat feta cheese
2 tbsp. sliced black olives
1/4 cup fat-free Italian dressing

Directions:
Cook pasta in a medium pot per package instructions, about 8 minutes. Drain and transfer to a large bowl.
Bring a large skillet sprayed with nonstick spray to medium-high heat. Cook zucchini and red onion until softened, about 6 minutes. Transfer to the large bowl with the pasta, and let cool.
Add all remaining ingredients to the bowl, and mix well. Cover and refrigerate until chilled, at least 1 hour

Finished Product :)
Well tomorrow is another weigh-in and I really don't want to let my team down, so hopefully the number is at least less then last week.  It is that TOM so I'm definitely not expecting miracles, but we shall see.

My goals for this week are to do some form of exercise every day with one rest day & log.every.bite that goes in my mouth.

Have a good day :)

Weigh in Wednesday!

It is Weigh in Wednesday.  Woo.

I weighed in this morning at 235.8, not too bad since I was up last week.  My goal for next week is to be at least at 233 so we shall see.  Yesterday was the first official day of my MamaLaughlinFitGroup challenge.  My team is Dashing through the Fat! I hope to work hard and honor my team and hopefully we can bring home a win :) My official starting weight for that was 236.8.  I would be ecstatic if I could finish the challenge under 200.  Its a 7 week challenge, so that might be a lofty goal but we shall see.

Ive done good so far this week with doing the Ripped in 30.  I love it so much more then the Shred.  Since I want to be honest on this blog, I did eat out for lunch & dinner yesterday.  But I got my workout in so I am happy with that.  I need to learn to make small changes and not let myself fall off track when I make mistakes.  Other times once I had lunch out I would have said screw it to my workout.  So I am very proud of myself for that.

That's all for today, thanks for reading!

Happy Monday

It's Monday!!

Birthday weekend was awesome, my best friend Nicole took me out and we had a great time.  Lots of drinks.  And my cousin Brandi & her fiance came out too! So great. She is in Nursing school and has a four year so I know she doesn't get to go out too often. Since I slacked all weekend (shocker) I made a workout plan for this week.

Tuesday- YMCA-PM
Wednesday- Ripped in 30 L1-AM
Thursday- Shred- AM & YMCA-PM
Friday- Shred-PM
Saturday- Ripped in 30 & YMCA
Sunday- Ripped in 30 L2 & Long walk.

Also no fried food & Only one meal out on Friday night. Hoping to weigh in 4 pounds less next week.

Whats your plan for the week?

I have been cracking myself up lately on Pinterest, so I just wanted to share a couple ones, hopefully it brightens your day as well :)

I'm still learning to add stuff to the blog, so hopefully I did it right.  I couldn't figure out how to link directly from Pinterest.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, I am celebrating with my best friend Nicole tonight for my birthday.  Looking forward to some drunken debauchery :) Working out & being healthy is taking a hiatus for a day.

27 Before 27

My birthday was Wednesday, yay! I turned 26, I feel no-where close to where I thought I would be at 26. Since I love lists I made a list of things I would like to accomplish before my next birthday, october 10th, 2013.
  1. Weigh in or under 150 pounds.
  2. Pay off all debt in full, except student loans & grandparents loan.
  3. Have an emergency fund of at least 1000 dollars.
  4. Run three 5k's with at least one under 45 minutes.
  5. Complete the Insanity challenge.
  6. Read 100 books (document).
  7. Go to confession at least twice.
  8. Do 5 consecutive pull ups.
  9. Go on a road trip.
  10. Call my grandparents more.
  11. Successfully complete 2 classes a semester with a B or higher.
  12. Eat vegan for a week.
  13. Complete a Tough Mudder/Warrior Dash, something to that effect.
  14. Get a tattoo with my brother.
  15. Learn to successfully change a tire.
  16. Get a professional massage.
  17. Buy a brand new mattress.
  18. Grow real nails.
  19. Check in with a therapist.
  20. Do job audit-move up.
  21. Have all old documents scanned at work.
  22. Take professional CPR/emergency class.
  23. Create something.. whether it be a painting, clay, poem..
  24. Take a picture every single day.
  25. Get professional make-up lessons.
  26. Be a healthy person.
  27. Be a happy person.
It is kind of a random group of things, in no particular order.  I am excited to complete them all.  I know some are slightly immeasurable, but at least things I want to keep in mind.  A few might be a little lofty considering my current state, but I want to at least work towards them. I'd like to review these on the 10th of every month.

What are some goals you'd like to accomplish before your next birthday?

Happy Monday

I definitely slipped this weekend.  Even after starting this blog and commenting with the facebook group I still got off tracked and didn't count food or workout this weekend.  But I'm back in the game today and hoping I didn't do too much damage.

Friday night I went to dinner with my mom at Olive Garden, those bread sticks do me in every time! But oh so yummy.

Saturday I spent some time with my cousins child who is four and oh so much fun.  He loves to play Angry Birds on my phone and is a fabulous golfer :) Then we good old fashioned family time with my older cousins and played some drinking games (the adults of course, not the four year old)

Sunday was full of errands, eating out, cleaning & homework time.  Ready to get back on track this week, even with my big birthday on Wednesday.  I'll be 26! Woohoo.

I'm hoping to post more on a regular basis to keep me accountable.  I also need to mess around with the formatting of the blog.  Leave me tips in the comments!

Weigh In Wednesdays

I am going to start this blog help keep me accountable and to give me a way to express and "journal" my thoughts. I am going to try and blog on a regular basis and make a new habit. This might be a little bit of rambling, so please bear with me.

First up... Weigh In Wednesdays.. Every Wednesdays I'll blog my weight and my thoughts about it.

Today I weighed in at 233! This is my first step (of many) towards being healthy.

A little weight history to start off. I have always been a "bigger" girl.  I am 5"1 so its hard to hide any weight on this body.  On and off since about 16 or 17 I have had moments where I make little changes towards losing weight.  I'll go for a while where I only drink diet (clearly better then regular pop :/) or walking extra during the week. I'll do that for a couple weeks and then just give up.  I was diagnosed with PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome) when I was about 12 years old.  That's for another post, but I tend to let that be an excuse as to why I cant lose weight.  Not my eating habits or lack of excerise of course..

Last March I went to a new PCOS Specialist and he mentioned weight loss surgery...what??? I never thought that was me.. I always thought that was a "last resort".. that shocked me.  Yet at 5"1 I weighed in at 243... For those at home, that's morbidly obese. I just never thought of myself that way.

So I joined Myfitnesspal (add me! sonyaewagner) and started officially counting calories and exercising. I started the C25k and doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred.  I did great in the beginning.  I logged everything and exercises on a regular basis. I got down to about 215 in August of 2011.  Then I stopped and slacked off the last year. Usually weighing in around 228-235. I have been feeling pretty down lately and recently joined a Facebook group which is a tremendous help and pushing me back towards my journey of being healthy and fit.  There is a challenge for the month of October to do Jillian Michael's workout every.single.day. On day three and loving it.

Anyways that's my long drawn out post.. I'm sure the first of many.

Thanks for reading.
